Hardship

"Be Strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord."- Psalm 31:24

"Take heart, let His love lead us through the night, hold on to hope, and take courage again"- 'Take Heart', Hillsong United

Recently, a lot of things have gone on around me, whether it be at school, home, work, church or anywhere else. Since school has started back, I have faced different hardships. The stress of tests, quizzes, extracurriculars, and just senior year has overwhelmed me. Another hard thing I have faced is finding out one of my most influential figures in my life is moving. It's such a hard thing to go through, but I know he's going on to bigger and better things for the Lord. Dealing with relationships and keeping a balance has been another hardship. There is one word to sum up the past few weeks: OVERWHELMED.
At our service tonight at church, we sang the song Take Heart by Hillsong United. As I was sitting there thinking it over, I let the lyrics sink in, and realized God is completely there to lead us through the hard times and we have to hold on to the one hope we have, which is Christ. No matter how overwhelmed we may become, Christ is there to lead us through it, and He is there to receive the glory for it too. At the end of the service, we sang another Hillsong United song called "You Hold Me Now". The chorus says, "no weeping, no hurt or pain, no suffering, You hold me now, You hold me now. no darkness, no sick or lame, no hiding, You hold me now." This song talks about what Heaven will be like, but I can't help but think about how this is how it is right now for those who have life in Christ. He holds us every step of the way in our lives. He is there no matter what. He is our strong hold. And that means, no matter what goes on, we should turn to Him, and He will lead us through.
